How to cook pumpkin seeds
When you purchase raw pumpkin seeds, they can be roasted easily to make for a nutritious treat. To prepare the seeds for toasting, place them on a cookie sheet in a single layer and lightly roast them at a temperature of 160-170 Fahrenheit or about 75 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes.
It is very important to be careful of the roasting time as after the 20-minute limit, changes occur in the fat structure of pumpkin seeds. Many of these changes are unwanted and should be avoided to preserve the maximum nutritional value of the seeds.
Ideas for preparing pumpkin seeds
Pumpkin seeds can be incorporated into daily meal ideas in a variety of ways. For instance, they may be added to sautéed vegetables, sprinkled onto salads, or mixed into hot and cold cereals. Likewise, pumpkin seeds may be chopped and added into baked goods like muffins or cookies or ground into a powder and added into salad dressing
