Valentine's Oatmeal Cookies Yum

Try this oatmeal cookie recipe for an amazing treat this valentines day! 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups regular rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sucanat
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350˚F
  • line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  • Add sucanat and butter to a stand mixer and mix until fluffy. Then add vanilla and egg and mix.
  • In a separate bowl, add all dry ingredients except for chocolate chips and mix well. once thoroughly mixed, pour dry ingredients in with wet ingredients and stir well. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • pour mixture onto a flat surface and flatten to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out your cookies, they will be very flimsy. (You may also bake the flattened mixture whole and use the cookie cutter after removing the sheet from the oven) Carefully transfer cookies to the baking sheet and bake for 10-11 minutes.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
