Spelt Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies Yum

These delicious cookies make a fantastic dessert! Spelt flour is much healthier than the traditionally used all-purpose flour, as it contains nutrients such as zinc, iron, and magnesium.

BSF Kitchen Test: 6/3/2021

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups spelt flour
  • 1/2 cup sucanat
  • 1 stick salted butter (softened)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 325°
  2. Mix butter, vanilla extract, and the egg in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. Gradually combine dry and wet ingredients while stirring well.
  4. Once thoroughly mixed, fold in the chocolate chips. 
  5. Scoop cookie dough into medium size balls and place on a wax-lined baking sheet. Place cookies in oven and cook for 11-13 minutes or until slightly brown around the edges. Enjoy!
