Fried Brown Rice Yum

Fried rice is warm, filling, flavorful, and extra delicious served with grilled chicken or dumpling soup! Brown basmati rice is also an excellent source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

INGREDIENTS (makes 4 servings):
  • 1 1/2 cups Stovetop Rice 
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1/2 small white onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen carrots and peas
  • 1-2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Heat wok (or large saute pan) on medium heat, and add sesame oil. Add onion, carrots, and peas and cook until tender. Place veggies to the side.
  2. Scramble egg in the wok until cooked, and add the veggies back in. Put the rice and soy sauce in the pan, and fry until thoroughly heated.
  3. Serve with green onions, if desired. Enjoy!
